I asked her to share a little bit about herself.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Best advice I’ve received is to keep on working hard, inventing new designs and creations and go on with my own ideas, no matter what’s trending now. Never let criticism to get in my way and one that I cherish most was to focus on the good things in my life
If you could spend a weekend as a local in any part of the world, where would it be and why?
Wow, that’s tough one… so hard to choose. I think I would go some place in Africa, close to nature, down to earth. Spend some days with a local tribe and learn from them on how to live from the basics of earth.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
That’s easy! Pretty much from everyday life, that in my case is very variant and colorful. I love to visit new places and meet new people, explore and expand my horizons in different fields and look deep into man as well as nature creations. I deconstruct things in my mind and use my free imagination to build new creations.
How do you stay creative?
Hmm… No problem there!
My mind always flows many different directions that I need to leash it sometimes…
I usually keep my small sketch book with me for a quick sketch of what goes up there to not forget it, although sometimes when I vision similar things over and over I know I must start making them so they go out of my head and find their own place in the world.
I love to see exhibitions of all sorts, especially from different fields like ceramic and textile as well as graphic design and drawings. I recently was to the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands after it has been renovated. The original architecture revealed is overwhelming, so much natural light comes from the top glass capes that it makes you see new details in the classic drawings of Rembrandt and Vermeer. They also have Asian collection with nice cabins and boxes I would highly recommend visit there if you’re around.
